چکیده

The banana prawn (Fenneropenaeus merguiensis) is a valuable in the worldwide market. However, cultivation of this species limited owing to difficulty culture management and knowledge reproduction. Therefore, we studied gene expression molecular mechanisms involved oogenesis for elucidating ovarian germ cell development prawns. tissue-specific distribution certain genes identified from previous transcriptome data showed that FmCyclinB, FmNanos, nuclear autoantigenic sperm protein (FmNASP) were only expressed gonads. situ hybridization (ISH) these three different patterns throughout oogenesis. FmCyclinB was highly pre-vitellogenic oocytes. FmNanos at almost same level during but most late stages. Based on highest mid oocytes, respectively, suggested may suppress before initiation vitellogenesis. Meanwhile, FmNASP detected pre-vitellogenesis. Moreover, quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR) analysis supported by ISH based high sub-adult ovaries, which contain In study, found reliable markers prawns also dynamic change mechanism sub-stage We determined levels Our findings provide information further studies reproduction assist their cultivation.

Molecular Characterisation of Colour Formation in the Prawn Fenneropenaeus merguiensis

INTRODUCTION Body colouration in animals can have a range of functions, with predator protection an important aspect of colour in crustaceans. Colour determination is associated with the carotenoid astaxanthin, which is taken up through the diet and stabilised in the tissues by the protein crustacyanin. As a variety of genes are found to play a role in colour formation in other systems, a holis...

Ovarian Transcriptome Analysis of Vitellogenic and Non-Vitellogenic Female Banana Shrimp (Fenneropenaeus merguiensis)

The banana shrimp (Fenneropenaeus merguiensis) is one of the most commercially important penaeid species in the world. Its numbers are declining in the wild, leading to a loss of broodstock for farmers of the shrimp and a need for more successful breeding programs. However, the molecular mechanism of the genes involved in this shrimp's ovarian maturation is still unclear. Consequently, we compa...

Bacterial Agglutination by Sialic Acid-Specific Lectin in the Hemolymph of the Banana Shrimp, Penaeus (Fenneropenaeus) merguiensis

A lectin from the hemolymph of the banana shrimp Penaeus (Fenneropenaeus) merguiensis expressed higher agglutination activity against rabbit erythrocytes than those from human, and its activity was Cadependent. The hemagglutinating activity of the hemolymph lectin was stable up to 55 C and optimal at pH 7.5-8.0. N-acetylated sugars, ManNAc, GlcNAc, GalNAc, and NeuNAc, were effective inhibitors ...

Effects of delayed icing on the sensory, chemical, microbial and microstructure attributes of banana shrimp (Fenneropenaeus merguiensis) during ice storage

The effect of delayed icing on the quality of banana shrimp (Fenneropenaeus merguiensis) was investigated by determining sensory, physicochemical (pH, TVB-N and WHC), microbial (TMC, total mesophilic counts and TPC, total psychrophilic counts) and microstructure aspects over 20 days during ice storage. The fresh shrimp stored in the immediately iced after caught (lot I) were organoleptically ac...
